The Electrical Estimation Engineer is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for electrical systems related to commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects. This includes detailed quantity take-offs, cost evaluation, vendor and subcontractor liaison, and ensuring timely submission of tenders and proposals in alignment with client specifications and project requirements.Analyze tender documents including drawings, specifications, scope of work, and project timelines for electrical works.
- Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and Bill of Quantities (BOQ) for electrical systems such as LV, MV, HV systems, lighting, power, ELV, and other related services.
- Source, review, and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure technical compliance and cost effectiveness.
- Prepare cost estimation sheets, comparison statements, and rate build-ups in line with project specifications and market benchmarks.
- Coordinate with internal departments (procurement, design, planning) to gather necessary inputs for accurate pricing.
- Develop and maintain estimation tools, cost databases, and vendor/subcontractor records.
- Attend site visits and pre-bid meetings when required to understand project conditions and challenges.
- Assist in the preparation and submission of technical and commercial bid packages.
- Support the Estimation Manager in value engineering exercises, risk analysis, and final bid strategy.
- Participate in post-tender clarifications and negotiations when required.
- Ensure all estimates are in compliance with applicable standards (e.g., DEWA, ADDC, IEC, IEEE).
