Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise day-to-day fabrication activities and assign tasks to workers based on project requirements.
- Interpret fabrication drawings, blueprints, and technical instructions to guide workshop teams.
- Monitor welding, cutting, and assembly of steel and metal components to ensure precision and compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Ensure that all work is completed within established timelines and budget constraints.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other departments to ensure smooth workflow and resource availability.
- Inspect completed work and implement corrective actions when required.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and organization in the workshop.
- Enforce company safety policies and ensure the team adheres to all health and safety regulations.
- Monitor usage of tools, machinery, and materials, and report maintenance or procurement needs.
- Train and mentor junior fabricators and new hires.
- Prepare daily progress reports and maintain records of labor and material usage.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Diploma or ITI certification in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in metal/steel fabrication, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of fabrication processes including welding (MIG/TIG/ARC), cutting (laser, plasma, waterjet), bending, and assembly.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and fabrication sketches.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of workshop safety protocols and standards.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
