The Field Buyer is responsible to manage and execute the procurement of technical materials, tools, equipment, and services required for estate engineering operations. The Field Buyer plays a key role in sourcing reliable vendors, conducting on-site market visits, negotiating prices, and ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement in line with specifications and project needs. The position ensures a seamless flow between field requirements and procurement execution, supporting uninterrupted estate maintenance and technical operations.
JOB LOCATION: FUJAIRAH, UAE
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering, Procurement, or Supply Chain Management.
- Certification in Procurement and Supply Chain Management (e.g., CIPS, IFPSM, or equivalent) preferred.
- UAE Driving License (mandatory for field visits).
- Familiarity with UAE local procurement regulations and municipal requirements is an advantage.
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in technical purchasing, preferably in facilities management, engineering, or construction within the UAE.
- Experience in sourcing and purchasing MEP materials, tools, spare parts, and technical consumables.
- Hands-on experience coordinating with maintenance/engineering teams and site technicians.
KEY SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:
Technical Procurement Knowledge
- Strong understanding of MEP materials, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and building maintenance products.
- Ability to read and interpret technical specifications, BOQs, and material submittals.
- Familiar with SOW-based service purchasing (e.g., elevator maintenance, pest control, etc.).
Vendor Sourcing & Market Knowledge
- Deep knowledge of local UAE markets, suppliers, and approved vendors for technical goods.
- Skilled in performing field visits, price comparisons, and market benchmarking.
- Ability to identify alternate sources without compromising on quality or compliance.
Negotiation & Cost Control
- Strong negotiation skills to ensure competitive pricing and value for money.
- Experience in negotiating payment terms, delivery timelines, and service agreements.
Logistics & Delivery Management
- Ability to coordinate with logistics teams and vendors for timely delivery to site or store.
- Verifying deliveries against orders and resolving discrepancies in quality or quantity.
Documentation & ERP Systems
- Proficient in creating and managing Purchase Orders, RFQs, GRNs, and delivery notes.
- Experience using ERP or procurement systems.
- Maintaining procurement logs, records, and warranty documentation.
Communication & Coordination
- Strong coordination skills with engineering, warehouse, and accounts departments.
- Clear communication with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to respond quickly to urgent field requests and site requirements.
