Foreman – Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership and Supervision
- Lead, manage, and control workers to ensure efficient work execution in accordance with the correct procedures and work instructions.
- Allocate manpower effectively across various tasks to optimize productivity and meet project demands.
- Work Direction and Instruction
- Provide clear instructions to workers on key points and warning points for each work process to maintain schedule, ensure quality, and uphold safety standards.
- Demonstrate correct work procedures when necessary to guide and train workers.
- Lifting and Handling Oversight
- Supervise and lead lifting operations involving heavy and large components, ensuring all safety measures are strictly followed.
- Damage Prevention
- Instruct workers on best practices to prevent damage to parts and components during the disassembly, assembly, and handling processes.
- Implement safeguards and protective measures to maintain the integrity of all equipment and components.
- Work Quality and Safety Assurance
- Ensure that all work is carried out safely and in compliance with project quality requirements.
- Act as a frontline enforcer of safety protocols and proper working methods.
Foreman – Required Knowledge and Experience
- Technical Knowledge
- Strong understanding of the assembly and disassembly procedures for large-scale gas turbines and/or generators.
- Familiarity with critical/key points in the assembly/disassembly process to ensure proper handling and alignment.
- Work Process Expertise
- Practical knowledge of:
- Lifting operations involving heavy components
- Piping work, welding, thermal insulation, and scaffolding
- Awareness of industry best practices and safety standards in each area.
- Tools and Equipment
- Well-versed in the tools, equipment, and materials necessary for the overhaul of large-scale gas turbines and generators.
- Ability to identify and utilize appropriate tools for specific tasks.
- Work Execution and Supervision
- Capable of performing work independently to demonstrate procedures to workers.
- Able to provide clear and effective instructions to workers and supervise their performance on-site.
- Team Management
- Proven ability to manage and control workers efficiently to maintain productivity, safety, and quality on the job site.
- Experience Requirements
- More than 5 years of experience as a skilled worker in turbine/generator overhaul projects.
- More than 5 years of experience working as a core worker on similar projects.
- At least 2 years of experience working as a Foreman specifically for overhaul of large-scale gas turbines or generators.
