The Forklift Operator is responsible for safely operating forklifts and other material-handling equipment to transport, stack, load, and unload goods within the office storage areas, warehouses, or logistics facilities. The operator ensures efficient movement of materials, maintains equipment safety standards, and supports office operations requiring material handling.
Key Responsibilities:1. Forklift Operation & Material Handling
- Operate forklifts and material-handling equipment to move, lift, stack, and arrange goods within designated areas.
- Transport office supplies, equipment, and inventory as required.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring safe and efficient handling of materials.
- Perform daily inspections of forklifts to ensure proper functioning and report any mechanical issues.
- Follow safety guidelines to prevent damage to materials, equipment, or personnel.
2. Inventory & Warehouse Management
- Assist in organizing and maintaining warehouse storage areas.
- Ensure proper labeling and stacking of items for easy access and tracking.
- Work with inventory personnel to ensure accurate stock levels and proper material placement.
- Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) and LIFO (Last In, First Out) principles as required.
3. Safety & Compliance
- Adhere to workplace safety policies, forklift operation protocols, and OSHA regulations.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) while operating forklifts.
- Conduct routine safety checks on forklifts, including brakes, fuel levels, and hydraulic systems.
- Report any workplace hazards, spills, or safety concerns to the supervisor.
4. Loading & Unloading Operations
- Securely load and unload office furniture, equipment, or materials.
- Ensure items are properly placed to avoid damage during transportation.
- Work with logistics teams to verify shipment details and assist with order fulfillment.
5. Workplace Support & Coordination
- Assist office or warehouse staff in moving heavy objects when required.
- Support logistics and procurement teams in arranging deliveries and shipments.
- Collaborate with supervisors and team members to optimize workflow efficiency.
6. Equipment Maintenance & Reporting
- Keep forklifts clean and in good working condition.
- Perform minor repairs or coordinate with the maintenance team for servicing.
- Maintain logs of forklift usage and fuel consumption.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Valid forklift operator certification/license.
- Experience in warehouse operations or logistics.
- Knowledge of forklift safety and operational guidelines.
- Ability to lift and move heavy materials as required.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
