About the roleOne of our associates is currently looking for a hands-on Full-Stack Tech Lead to take over the Statements System — a PHP-based web application currently backed by SQLite, with planned migration to PostgreSQL and deployment to AWS. This is a foundational role in a startup spun off from a successful fintech company.
Responsibilities:
- Take full ownership of the Statements System (front-end, back-end, and DB).
- Migrate from SQLite to PostgreSQL, ensuring data integrity and performance.
- Refactor and maintain PHP-based APIs and web interfaces.
- Deploy and manage the application in a cloud environment (AWS preferred).
- Implement CI/CD pipelines, basic infrastructure-as-code, and monitoring.
- Ensure security best practices across stack (web, DB, cloud).
- Support minor business logic changes in the statement calculation engine.
- Liaise with product and operations teams for ongoing improvements.
Requirements:
- 5+ years experience in full-stack or backend development (preferably PHP).
- Strong experience with SQL databases (Postgres a strong plus).
- Hands-on experience with cloud deployments, ideally on AWS.
- Working knowledge of DevOps practices (containers, CI/CD, monitoring).
- Comfortable working solo in a greenfield-to-mature transition project.
- Basic frontend skills (HTML/CSS/JavaScript). Bootstrap framework knowledge – an advantage.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
