We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Furniture Carpenter to design, build, repair, and install wooden furniture and fixtures according to specifications. The ideal candidate should be proficient in reading blueprints, using woodworking tools and machinery, and ensuring precision and quality in every piece of furniture crafted.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret drawings, technical plans, and design specifications.
- Measure, cut, and shape wood, plywood, and other materials accurately.
- Build custom furniture pieces such as tables, chairs, cabinets, wardrobes, beds, and shelves.
- Assemble furniture components using nails, screws, dowels, glue, and other materials.
- Sand, polish, and apply finishes such as paint, stain, or varnish.
- Repair and restore damaged or worn furniture items.
- Operate woodworking machines (saws, planers, jointers, etc.) and hand tools safely.
- Maintain a clean and organized workshop.
- Ensure that all pieces meet quality standards and customer expectations.
- Collaborate with designers, project managers, and other carpenters as needed.
