Serves as a General Practitioner in the Cardiology Department, monitoring and treats patients for disease and disabilities: directs preventive care of patients according to approved procedures which are part of an integrated care of curative and preventive services under supervision of specialist.
- To perform the professional duties of a General Practitioner in accordance with the delineation of privileges as recommended by the credential committee.
- To conduct assessment & re –assessment for all patients in the Cardiology, on admission, and during patient stay in hospital
- Determines which cases constitute an emergency, extends rapid treatment to the patient as needed, makes quick decisions, and chooses the correct consultant for necessary additional guidance.
- Upon request examines in-patients in Cardiology, rendering immediate judgment and treatment if necessary.
- Advises nursing personnel regarding medical problems; responds to radio-telephone calls.
- Completes all medical records and case histories promptly, indicating thereon the diagnosis and treatment given. Is responsible for the medical accuracy, completeness and confidential nature of patients’ medical records.
- Provides health counseling of patients as needed.
- Attends professional and hospital meetings as directed by the HOD. Occasionally prepares cases for presentation at ward rounds and staff meetings.
- To perform duties in outpatient clinics (if and when required).
- Provides on-call ICU coverage.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Head of Cardiology
- Evidences dependability in carrying out the commitments and obligations of the position.
- Demonstrates the ability to listen to others in promoting effective communication.
- Develops thorough understanding of policies and procedures of the hospital and demonstrates respect for them.
- To follow appropriate international guidelines, DHA regulations & Joint Commission International norms while treating or managing patients as well as while discharging their professional duties.
- Graduation from an approved Medical School.
- 2 years residency training in a recognized residency training program.
- 1 year of Internship.
- 3 years of experience as a General Practitioner.
- Must have a thorough knowledge of medical ethics, with particular reference to the obligation to maintain the confidentiality of his work; personality which inspires confidence and trust in his patients; and adhere to Bylaws, Rules and Regulations of the Medical Organization.
- Current licensure in country of origin and with DHA license to practice in Dubai, UAE
- Excellent command of oral and written English. Knowledge of Arabic language is desirable but not essential.
- ACLS or ATLS certified.
- Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with co-workers, superiors, patients & families.
