Job Summary :
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to lead and manage our Lifeguard Division within the Facilities Management business. The Head of Department will oversee all lifeguard operations across client locations (residential, hotel, public, and private pools/beaches), ensuring compliance with safety standards, client satisfaction, training excellence, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will bring extensive operational leadership, team development experience, and a strong understanding of water safety protocols aligned with UAE/Dubai regulations.
Key Responsibilities :
Strategic Leadership & Operations :
- :Develop and implement strategic plans for lifeguard services aligned with company goals and client expectations.
- Oversee deployment and scheduling of lifeguards across multiple facilities ensuring optimal coverage and service efficiency.
- Maintain operational readiness and ensure uninterrupted lifeguard services across all assigned facilities.
- Monitor performance metrics, KPIs, and SLAs to ensure high service quality and client satisfaction.
Team Management & Development :
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of supervisors, senior lifeguards, and lifeguards (100+ staff across various sites).
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and continuous training programs for lifeguard staff.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, staff appraisals, and implement career development plans.
- Promote a positive, safety-first, team-oriented culture across the division.
Safety & Compliance :
- Ensure full compliance with UAE water safety standards, DMCC, Dubai Municipality, and EHS regulations.
- Implement robust risk assessment procedures, emergency action plans, and incident reporting systems.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to uphold safety standards at all facilities.
- Stay updated with international best practices and regulatory updates in aquatic safety.
Client Relationship & Service Delivery :
- Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients regarding lifeguard services.
- Conduct client meetings, site walkthroughs, and resolve escalated issues or service concerns.
- Ensure contract compliance and proactively identify opportunities for service improvement or expansion.
Budget & Resource Management
- Develop and manage the department’s annual budget, including staffing, training, uniforms, and equipment.
- Optimize resource allocation and manage inventory of safety and rescue equipment.
- Provide cost-effective staffing solutions without compromising safety and quality.
Qualifications & Education :
- Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Science, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related field.
- Lifeguard Instructor Certification (e.g., Ellis & Associates, American Red Cross, RLSS, or equivalent).
- Certified in CPR, First Aid, AED. Instructor-level preferred.
Experience :
- Minimum 8-10 years of experience in lifeguard services, with at least 4 years in a leadership or head-of-division role.
- Proven track record in managing lifeguard operations at multi-site facilities (residential, hotel, beach, public pools).
- Strong experience in facilities management or service delivery organizations is essential.
Skills & Competencies :
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Deep knowledge of local regulatory requirements and international aquatic safety standards.
- Excellent client relationship management and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage large teams and work in a multicultural environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office, scheduling software, and reporting tools.
Preferred :
- UAE Driving License.
- Familiarity with CAFM systems and performance-based FM contracts.
- Experience in working with government and semi-government contracts in the UAE.
