We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Head of Stores to lead and manage all inventory and storeroom operations. The successful candidate will ensure efficient receipt, storage, and distribution of materials and supplies, guaranteeing that all departments receive what they need in a timely, accurate, and cost-effective manner. This role requires strong leadership to maintain inventory accuracy, optimize storeroom processes, and support overall organizational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the stores and inventory management, ensuring smooth and efficient workflows.
- Manage the receipt, inspection, storage, and issuance of all materials and supplies to various departments.
- Develop and enforce inventory control policies and procedures to maintain accuracy and reduce stock discrepancies.
- Conduct regular stock audits, cycle counts, and physical inventories to ensure stock integrity.
- Coordinate with procurement and operations teams to forecast inventory needs and plan replenishments.
- Lead, train, and supervise the stores team to ensure high performance and adherence to safety standards.
- Optimize warehouse layout and storage methods to maximize space utilization and accessibility.
- Maintain accurate records of stock movements, returns, and adjustments using inventory management systems.
- Monitor and manage stock levels to prevent shortages or excess inventory, implementing cost-effective storage solutions.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and security regulations within the storeroom environment.
- Prepare and present regular reports on inventory status, discrepancies, and operational efficiency to management.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance storeroom operations and customer satisfaction.
- Participate in inventory committees and cross-functional meetings as needed to support organizational inventory goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline; degrees in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related fields are an advantage.
- Minimum of 12+ years of experience in warehouse or inventory management, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Proven experience in inventory control, stock management, and storeroom operations.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory software.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and security regulations related to warehouse operations.
- High level of integrity, reliability, and professionalism.
