As a Head of Tax, you will lead the Group’s tax function across the UAE and international operations. Reporting to the Head of PF&A, your expertise in direct and indirect tax compliance, reporting, and governance will be critical in ensuring full regulatory compliance and optimizing the Group’s tax position. With deep knowledge of regional legislation—including Corporate Tax, VAT, Transfer Pricing, and Economic Substance Regulations—you will translate complex requirements into clear, actionable policies and processes that support business operations and growth.
Key Job Responsibilities:
UAE Tax Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of all UAE Corporate Tax returns, VAT returns, and related declarations across all entities.
- Oversee tax provisioning and financial disclosures in accordance with UAE Corporate Tax Law, IFRS, and Group reporting timelines.
- Monitor compliance with UAE Federal Tax Authority (FTA) guidelines, Free Zone regulations, and other relevant updates.
Transfer Pricing & ESR Compliance
- Lead implementation and ongoing compliance with Transfer Pricing documentation and disclosure requirements under UAE Corporate Tax Law.
- Prepare and maintain Master File, Local File, and TP disclosure forms, ensuring arm’s length pricing for intercompany transactions.
- Ensure full compliance with Economic Substance Regulations (ESR), including entity assessments, notifications, and reporting obligations.
Tax Policy, Risk & Governance
- Develop and implement the Group Tax Policy and related procedures across all business units.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate tax risks by maintaining a tax risk register and internal controls framework.
- Coordinate periodic tax risk reviews and compliance health checks in collaboration with internal audit and external advisors.
Tax Planning & Advisory
- Advise on tax-efficient structuring of commercial arrangements, cross-border transactions, intercompany flows, and new legal entities.
- Evaluate the tax impact of strategic initiatives, including M&A activity, market expansions, and legal restructures.
- Provide advisory on Free Zone tax matters, including 0% Corporate Tax eligibility, qualifying income analysis, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Disputes, Audits & Government Liaison
- Represent the Group during FTA audits, inquiries, and dispute resolution processes.
- Prepare formal responses to FTA assessments, manage appeals, and coordinate with legal counsel and external advisors.
- Maintain strong relationships with the FTA, Free Zone authorities, and relevant external consultants.
Technology, Reporting & Process Improvement
- Drive automation and process improvement in tax reporting using ERP systems and tax technology tools (e.g., VAT modules, TP software, Power BI).
- Work closely with PF&A and accounting teams to align tax data with financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting cycles.
- Conduct training sessions and build tax awareness across finance and operational departments to ensure ongoing compliance.
