We are currently seeking an experienced and reliable Heavy Truck Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy-duty trucks and trailers. Responsibilities:
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on heavy trucks and trailers
- Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, brake service, and tire replacements
- Troubleshoot and repair engine and transmission issues
- Maintain detailed service records and complete work orders accurately
- Ensure all repairs meet safety and DOT compliance standards
- Use diagnostic tools and equipment efficiently
- Communicate with supervisors and drivers about vehicle issues and repair status
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Adhere to all workplace safety standards and procedures
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent (vocational training a plus)
- 3+ years of experience as a heavy truck mechanic (or similar role)
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, air brake systems, and heavy truck components
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
- Own tools preferred
- Valid driver's license (CDL is a plus)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various conditions (indoor/outdoor, standing, kneeling)
