The Heavy Vehicle Senior Mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy vehicles (such as trucks, buses, trailers, and construction equipment). The role requires advanced technical knowledge, hands-on experience, and leadership skills to guide junior mechanics and ensure timely, high-quality repairs that meet safety and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform inspection, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair of heavy vehicles (engine, transmission, hydraulic systems, suspension, brakes, and electrical systems).
- Conduct preventive maintenance and ensure vehicles are serviced as per manufacturer and company standards.
- Supervise and guide junior mechanics and technicians in daily workshop activities.
- Ensure proper use of diagnostic tools, equipment, and repair techniques.
- Maintain accurate service and repair records.
- Inspect and test repaired vehicles for proper functioning and roadworthiness.
- Coordinate with the Workshop Supervisor on parts requirements and timely job completion.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and workshop policies.
- Provide technical advice and training to junior staff when required.
- Support in identifying recurring vehicle issues and suggest improvements for efficiency.
Qualifications & Skills
- Diploma / Technical Certification in Automobile / Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 7–10 years of experience in heavy vehicle maintenance and repair (preferably in the GCC/UAE).
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, air brake systems, and electrical troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with heavy equipment diagnostic tools and software.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Leadership skills with the ability to mentor junior mechanics.
- Good communication and reporting skills.
