As Hygiene Officer, we rely on you to:
Assist the Stewarding & Hygiene Manager to organize, coordinate, control and support all SFS / ISO 22000:2018 and DM Food code requirements
Support Stewarding Department’s activities
Ensure the highest level of sanitation and hygiene standards in the hotel
Ensure all food served to guests and employees is free of microbiological, chemical, and physical contamination, and all work areas conform to minimum requirements set by local health authorities
Work closely with relevant Department Heads to facilitate excellent communication and ensure the realization of established quality standards
Ensure segregation of all raw and cooked food procedures are strictly observed
Monitor temperature logs of refrigerators, freezers, hot-holding units, and food items
Investigate and report hygiene breaches and take corrective/preventive actions
Ensure Food stock rotation practices are adhered to
Conduct daily spot checks and audits to ensure all food safety standards are adhered to
We are looking for someone who:
Has minimum 2–3 years of experience in food safety, hygiene, or quality assurance in a restaurant or hospitality environment.
Attained Local Municipality Food Safety Training
Has a Diploma or bachelor’s degree in food safety, Environmental Health, Microbiology, Public Health, or related field
Has relevant certification – HACCP, ISO 22000, or Food Safety Management System Certification
Upholds professional values, ethics, and integrity at all times
Communicates and writes with fluency in English
Has strong interpersonal and communication skills
