KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Collaborate closely with teachers and external professionals to support effective learning strategies for students with additional learning needs.
· Provide tailored academic support to help designated students access the British curriculum and ASDAN awards to engage fully in all aspects of school life.
· Assist students in understanding and following instructions, fostering independence and confidence in their learning.
· Support students who experience communication difficulties or for whom English is an additional language.
· Adapt learning activities to respond to individual student needs and requirements.
· Assist in the planning, delivery and evaluation of personalised learning and development activities.
· Contribute to the creation of a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment.
· Support pupils in their emotional, behavioural and social development, working in line with agreed strategies and student support plans.
· Participate in the development and implementation of pupil profiles and Documented Learner Plans (formally IEPs)
· Maintain effective communication with teaching staff, parents and other stakeholders to support student academic and holistic progress.
· Supervise students during educational visits, after-school clubs and break times as required.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Qualifications
· A-Level / NVQ / High School Certificate (or equivalent)
Minimum Experience
· At least 2 years of experience supporting students with additional learning needs in a school setting
Skills and Attributes
· Must be bi-lingual (English and Spanish) with an ability to speak, understand and communicate effectively in both languages.
· Passionate about student support and well-being
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills
· Professionalism and a positive, collaborative approach
· Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and inclusive practices
· Adaptability and solution-focused mindset
· Willing to complete CPD opportunities- Including attending online training related to ASDAN and other alternative curriculums
