Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our dynamic finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the accounts receivable operations, performing bank reconciliations, overseeing credit control procedures, and ensuring compliance with IAS and IFRS standards. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions like XLOOKUP, matching formulas, and pivot tables, is essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accounts Receivable Operations:
- Manage and monitor accounts receivable activities, ensuring timely invoicing and payment collection.
- Process and reconcile incoming payments accurately and on time.
- Prepare and send statements of account to clients and follow up on overdue accounts.
- Credit Control:
- Conduct credit assessments and establish credit limits for new and existing clients.
- Monitor and manage the aged debtors’ report, ensuring that all outstanding debts are collected.
- Identify and address potential credit risks, recommending action plans to minimize bad debts.
- Liaise with clients to resolve any discrepancies or issues regarding payments and invoices.
- Bank Reconciliations:
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations, ensuring all transactions are accounted for and discrepancies are resolved.
- Ensure that all cash receipts are recorded accurately and matched against the correct invoices.
- Maintain up-to-date records of all bank transactions and prepare related financial reports.
- Compliance with IAS/IFRS:
- Ensure that all accounts receivable and financial reporting activities comply with International Accounting Standards (IAS) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Stay updated on changes in IAS/IFRS regulations and apply them to relevant accounting procedures.
- Assist in preparing financial statements and reports in accordance with IAS/IFRS requirements.
- Excel Proficiency:
- Utilize advanced Excel functions such as XLOOKUP, MATCH, and pivot tables to analyze financial data.
- Create and maintain detailed spreadsheets to track accounts receivable, monitor outstanding balances, and generate reports.
- Assist in automating routine tasks using Excel formulas and tools to improve efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field ACCA, CMA or any certification is plus.
- Proven experience in accounts receivable, credit control, and bank reconciliations.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations, with expertise in IAS and IFRS.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including XLOOKUP, MATCH, and pivot table functions.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients and internal teams.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) is a plus.
