About Us:
Como Lounge is a distinguished cafe known for its high-quality baked goods and exceptional service. We are seeking a skilled and creative Head Baker to lead our baking team and produce an array of delicious pastries, bread, and other baked items.
Responsibilities:
Baking Expertise: Prepare and bake a variety of items, including bread such as viennoiserie, buns, brioche loaf, and sourdough. Also, pastries, cakes, and cookies, ensuring high standards of quality and consistency.
Recipe Development: Develop and refine recipes, introducing new and innovative baked goods to keep the menu exciting and appealing.
Team Leadership: Lead, train, and mentor the baking team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
Inventory Management: Manage inventory, order ingredients, and maintain appropriate stock levels to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
Quality Control: Ensure all baked goods meet our quality standards before they are served or sold. Conduct regular taste tests and quality checks.
Operational Efficiency: Oversee daily baking operations, ensuring a smooth workflow and timely production.
Hygiene and Safety: Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, adhering to all health and safety regulations. Implement and enforce food safety standards.
Cost Management: Manage ingredient costs by optimizing usage and minimizing waste. Develop and implement cost-saving measures.
Customer Interaction: Occasionally interact with customers to gather feedback and ensure satisfaction with the baked goods.
Innovation: Stay updated on baking trends and bring fresh ideas to enhance the bakery offerings and customer experience.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an assistant baker or in a similar role, with a strong portfolio of baked goods.
- Exceptional baking skills and creativity in recipe development.
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
- Thorough knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Passion for baking and a commitment to high-quality products and service.
- Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- PREFERABLY 2-3 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE!
