Job Summary:
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Steward to join our team. The Kitchen Steward will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, supporting chefs and kitchen staff, and ensuring smooth day-to-day kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas, including floors, walls, and workstations.
- Wash, sanitize, and properly store dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
- Assist chefs and kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks when required.
- Handle and operate cleaning equipment and chemicals safely.
- Collect and dispose of kitchen waste in a timely manner.
- Organize storage areas and maintain proper inventory of cleaning supplies.
- Support the kitchen team in setting up and closing kitchen operations.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a stewarding or kitchen support role is an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of hygiene and food safety practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical stamina to handle long shifts and heavy lifting.
- Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays.
