Job Overview

As a Manager, IT and Projects  at Emirates NBD, your role is to 

1. Manage Applications and Systems support along with close coordination with team to deliver in-house development of reports and changes resulting in reduced or no IT and vendor cost to the business
2. Go-to champion for all core applications used by business with excellent working knowledge and understanding of systems, data and functional flow from front-office to middle-office to back-office to all the integrations with internal as well as external platforms
3. Manage and drive the business requirements covering new initiatives, projects, changes and enhancements.
4. Manage to reduce applications and systems cost, minimizing business cost and maximizing productivity and efficiency with notable return on investment as well as take ownership of projects budgets and ensure deliverables are withing planned timelines and cost.
5. Manage team to deliver IT and project requirements as per stakeholder needs
6. Manage and drive new initiatives and core application changes right from business requirements phase to workflow definitions to functions specifications to user acceptance, go-live and post go-live support
7. With strong business and applications knowledge, to ideate, initiate, drive and deliver improved efficiency and productivity through automation, process improvements, enhanced application features and translation of manual tasks to system tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the 1st level of support to business users covering application, systems, training, change management, reporting and new requirements.
• Liaise with Emirates NBD Group IT platform for issue resolution and vendor escalations.
• Ensure zero SLA breaches with Group IT.
• Relationship management with Emirates NBD Group IT platform as a service provider for Emirates NBD Asset Management.
• Drive change and enhancement requests for all applications used by Emirates NBD Asset Management and Emirates NBD Capital KSA.
• Provide technical and functional inputs to the changes to minimize external dependency and maximize business productivity.
• Mange closely with team all cases/incidents raised with application support teams within Group IT and vendor and independently drive successful case discussion between users, internal application support and vendor support teams to ensure incidents and cases are successfully closed with either a permanent resolution or a workaround fix.
• Be the go-to champion for all user queries, complaints and issues related to all core applications and systems used by Emirates NBD Asset Management and Emirates NBD Capital KSA users.
• Research and train end-users on improved application functionality leading to reduced manual work, improved operational efficiency and enhanced productivity.
• Understand core business of Asset Management covering all functional teams.
• Assess business needs in terms of digitization and digitalization to ensure enhanced system driven processes and reduced manual work.
• Have strong functional knowledge about business functions covering portfolio management, portfolio performance and attribution analysis, portfolio risk analytics, investment operations, fund management and accounting, client reporting, portfolio rules monitoring and compliance and trading/valuation/reporting knowledge on various investment asset classes.
• Build strong system workflow knowledge and understand pain points of business and suggest improvements in terms of processes enhancements, data management, setup and configuration, integrations and automation ensuring optimal usage of system features to drive business workflow and processes.
• Closely coordinate with Wealth Management projects teams, Group IT Platform team and senior management to ensure business demand is communicated based on priority and business justification to secure the relevant budgets and approvals for annual IT requirements for Emirates NBD Asset Management and Emirates NBD Capital KSA.
• Understand and document business requirements with face-to-face meetings with users and other stakeholders.
• Prepare business case and business requirements documents for change requests and enhancements and acquire requisite approvals.
• Close coordination with the application platform team and senior platform owner to communicate project requirements.
• Acquire requisite approvals from unit managers, business head, business finance manager and other stakeholders where necessary.
• Manage the initiative from start to end ensuring costs remain within budget and completing milestones within target timelines.
• Ensure business stakeholder expectations are met in terms of deliverables with successful completion of projects.
• Responsible to discuss, ideate and suggest changes and initiatives to improve efficiency and productivity.
• Initiate new changes as per user requirements.
• Prepare business requirements document along with business case to define scope and seek budget approvals.
• Communicate business requirements to platform team, vendor consultants, subject matter experts to ensure scope is clearly defined to build accurate functional specifications.
• Coordinate with business teams to provide sign off on functional specifications document in line with initial business requirements document to ensure expected solution is delivered.
• Analyze, evaluate and prioritize initiatives and changes in terms of criticality against parameters like operational efficiency, cost savings, revenue generation or regulatory mandates.
• Coordinate user acceptance testing and final sign off for production releases.
• Develop reports in close coordination with the team where possible internally to achieve automation and improve efficiency and internal customer and client satisfaction
• Achieve cost savings through in-house solution design and delivery as per user requirements where applicable.
• Define, maintain and achieve internal initiative timelines at the beginning of the year to ensure deliverables are met as per defined timelines.
• Manage the vendor relationship in line with the new outsourced services agreement between Emirates NBD Asset Management and SSnC.
• Responsible for independent liaison with the vendor with minimal support from internal group IT teams.
• Manage regular meetings with the vendor to ensure upkeep of the cloud services and applications and successful execution of the KPIs as per the outsourced agreements.
• Manage and successfully close open issues and requirements with regular steering committee meetings with vendor.
• Drive new initiatives, identify new modules as per business requirements including on-boarding of the new modules as well as lead the mandatory updates and upgrades initiated by the vendor.
• Manage the support, changes, enhancements and new requirements for all SSnC products like APX, MOXY, Rules Manager, TRADEX, Sylvan and Vision FI.
• Manage vendor relationship for Emirates NBD KSA Capital in terms of application requirements and changes as well as regular support for issues and incidents.

Skills and Experience 

• Bachelors in electronics/computer science/computer applications/information technology
• Professional certifications
• Strong business knowledge in asset management industry and understanding of products, procedures and processes.
• 5+ years in application support
• 4+ years in software development
• 4+ years in asset management industry
• Experince in software development using C, C++, JAVA, ASP .Net, C#, VB, SQL, PL/SQL, SSRS
• Managerial skills to manage team
