Job Summary:
COENGR is looking for a skilled Mechanical Draftsman to join our Abu Dhabi team. The role involves preparing accurate mechanical design drawings and documentation in compliance with project specifications, engineering standards, and UAE regulations for a variety of building and infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed mechanical drawings, layouts, and schematics using AutoCAD or other drafting software.
- Interpret engineers’ designs, sketches, and specifications to produce precise technical drawings.
- Coordinate with mechanical engineers, architects, and other disciplines to ensure accuracy and integration of designs.
- Prepare drawings for HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and other mechanical systems.
- Revise and update drawings based on feedback from engineers, consultants, and clients.
- Maintain organized records of drawings, revisions, and related project documentation.
- Ensure compliance with UAE codes, standards, and project-specific requirements.
- Assist in the preparation of as-built drawings and quantity take-offs when needed.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in mechanical drafting, preferably in the UAE.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit MEP is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, detailing, and construction practices.
- Ability to interpret and produce accurate technical drawings from engineering inputs.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and accuracy in work.
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Preferred Experience:
- Previous work experience with an engineering consultancy.
- Familiarity with Abu Dhabi Municipality requirements and UAE mechanical codes.
