Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Orthodontist to join our dental team. The ideal candidate will provide expert orthodontic care, diagnose malocclusions and dental misalignments, and develop personalized treatment plans for patients of all ages. The Orthodontist will also work closely with other dental professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough evaluations of patients’ oral health, dental history, and any specific concerns to determine the need for orthodontic treatment.
- Diagnosis & Treatment Planning: Diagnose malocclusions, bite irregularities, and other dental issues. Develop individualized treatment plans and explain options to patients and their families.
- Braces and Appliance Fitting: Fit and adjust braces, clear aligners, retainers, and other orthodontic devices. Monitor patient progress and make necessary adjustments to devices over the course of treatment.
- Patient Education: Educate patients on proper oral hygiene and care for orthodontic appliances, ensuring they understand their treatment options and what to expect.
- Collaboration: Work with general dentists, dental hygienists, and other specialists to provide integrated care and treatment options for patients.
- Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate patient records and treatment histories, including progress notes and X-ray interpretations, in compliance with health regulations.
- Follow-Up Care: Monitor patient progress during and after the treatment process, including ensuring proper retention and monitoring for relapse.
- Staying Current: Keep up-to-date with advancements in orthodontic techniques, technologies, and best practices. Attend professional development opportunities, workshops, and continuing education.
Qualifications:
- Education: Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree; completion of an accredited orthodontic residency program.
- Licensing/Certification: Board-certified orthodontist with a valid state license to practice orthodontics. Continuing education and certification as required by the state or region.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as an orthodontist preferred. Experience with a wide range of orthodontic treatments, including traditional braces and clear aligners.
