Key Responsibilities:
- Source and procure materials, spare parts, tools, and equipment for maintenance and facilities operations.
- Work closely with facilities, maintenance, and engineering teams to forecast material needs.
- Review requisitions for accuracy and ensure timely processing of purchase orders.
- Identify reliable suppliers, obtain quotes, and evaluate pricing, lead times, and quality.
- Negotiate with vendors to secure cost-effective terms while ensuring material specifications are met.
- Maintain and update records of materials, stock levels, and supplier performance.
- Coordinate with warehouse or stores personnel for inventory control and reordering of critical items.
- Ensure all purchases comply with company procurement policies and health and safety standards.
- Monitor delivery schedules and resolve supply issues or discrepancies with vendors.
- Assist in the development of procurement strategies that optimize material availability and cost-efficiency.
- Support audits and reporting related to procurement activities.
Key Skills and Competencies:
- In-depth knowledge of procurement processes and material supply chain management.
- Familiarity with facilities maintenance materials and MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Operations) items.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple procurement activities simultaneously.
- Proficient in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Understanding of inventory control, material safety standards, and logistics coordination.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement, preferably in a facilities or maintenance environment.
