Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement / Purchase Officer with strong expertise in customs clearance and excellent negotiation abilities. The ideal candidate will handle end-to-end procurement, supplier negotiations, and ensure smooth clearance of goods through customs in compliance with UAE regulations.
ey Responsibilities
- Manage the complete procurement process—vendor selection, RFQs, price comparisons, and issuing purchase orders.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers to achieve cost savings without compromising quality.
- Handle customs clearance procedures, documentation, and ensure compliance with UAE customs regulations for timely delivery of shipments.
- Coordinate with freight forwarders, shipping agents, and customs authorities to resolve clearance issues.
- Maintain accurate procurement and customs documentation for audits and internal reporting.
- Monitor supplier performance, manage delivery schedules, and ensure quality standards.
- Conduct market research for sourcing new vendors and negotiating better deals.
- Collaborate with internal teams (logistics, finance, operations) to meet project requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in procurement/purchasing, with hands-on experience in customs clearance processes within the UAE.
- Strong knowledge of UAE customs regulations, import/export procedures, and HS codes.
- Proven excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable pricing and contract terms.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and advanced MS Excel skills.
- Good understanding of international shipping terms (Incoterms).
- Strong communication skills in English; Arabic knowledge is an added advantage.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple procurement projects simultaneously.
