About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Sea Freight Operations Manager to oversee and optimize our sea logistics operations in the UAE. The ideal candidate will ensure seamless coordination of shipments, compliance with international regulations, and cost-effective solutions while maintaining high client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end sea freight operations, including LCL, FCL, breakbulk, and reefer shipments.
- Coordinate with shipping lines, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and port authorities to ensure timely and efficient cargo movement.
- Negotiate competitive freight rates, contracts, and service agreements with carriers and vendors.
- Ensure compliance with UAE customs regulations, international trade laws (INCOTERMS), and documentation (BL, COO, etc.).
- Monitor shipment tracking, resolve delays, and provide proactive updates to clients.
- Lead a team of operations staff, ensuring productivity and adherence to SOPs.
- Optimize routes, reduce costs, and implement process improvements.
- Handle client inquiries, escalations, and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.
- Prepare and analyze operational reports (KPIs, cost savings, performance metrics).
Qualifications & Skills:
- 5+ years of sea freight operations experience, with UAE/GCC market knowledge.
- Strong understanding of port operations, customs clearance, and documentation.
- Proficiency in logistics software (e.g., Cargowise, SAP, ERP systems).
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field (preferred).
