Position Overview
AHOY is seeking a Senior IT Specialist to enhance our technology landscape and support our growing operations. The ideal candidate will bring extensive knowledge in IT management, systems administration, and technology solutions, contributing to the overall IT strategy and ensuring that all technology initiatives align with our business goals.
In this role, you will oversee the management and optimization of our IT infrastructure, respond to technical issues, and provide support to team members across the organization. You will also play a key role in evaluating and implementing new technologies to improve efficiency and reliability.
Requirements
- Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and maintain IT systems, including hardware, software, and networks, ensuring functionality and security.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to staff for all IT-related issues.
- Lead the deployment and configuration of new hardware and software applications.
- Implement and enforce IT policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure compliance and security.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies that can enhance the performance of IT systems.
- Manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes to ensure business continuity.
- Collaborate with departments to assess their technology needs and provide appropriate solutions.
- Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in IT support or system administration roles.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, firewalls, routers, and switches.
- Proficiency in Windows and Linux server administration.
- Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and virtualized environments.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity practices and tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
