Rebar/ Steel Fixer Supervisor (Structural Reinforcement Specialist)

Location: Mogadishu, Somalia
Duration: 2.5 – 3 Years (Project-Based)
Docol Group, a dynamic and rapidly expanding organization in East Africa, is seeking a skilled and experienced Steel Fixer Supervisor for our landmark luxury 5-star hotel and mall project (100,000m²) in Mogadishu, Somalia. Managed by Docol Investments FZCO, this project is being developed to UAE 5-star standards and is located in a secure zone near AMISOM headquarters.
Key Responsibilities:
✔ Supervise all steel reinforcement activities, including cutting, bending, placing, and tying rebar for foundations, columns, slabs, and beams.
✔ Interpret and execute structural drawings and bar bending schedules (BBS) with precision.
✔ Monitor work progress, ensure accuracy in rebar placement, and verify alignment with engineering specifications.
✔ Coordinate with site engineers and foremen to ensure timely material availability and smooth workflow.
✔ Lead a team of steel fixers, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards.
✔ Conduct quality checks before concrete pouring to confirm steel arrangement and positioning.
✔ Resolve on-site issues, provide hands-on guidance, and train junior steel fixers as needed.
✔ Maintain daily reports on manpower, progress, material usage, and any site issues.
✔ Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) protocols.
Qualifications & Experience:
✔ High-rise building construction experience is a must.
✔ Minimum 7 years of experience as a steel fixer supervisor on high-rise or commercial construction projects.
✔ Deep knowledge of structural reinforcement works, BBS interpretation, and construction safety.
✔ Proven ability to lead and manage teams under tight schedules.
✔ Strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams.
✔ Familiarity with quality control procedures and international building standards.
