1. Role Purpose:
Responsible for a wide range of warehouse operations including loading, unloading, sorting, staging, and transporting goods into and out of the factory or branch—both physically and through system transactions. This role requires strict adherence to safety and quality procedures to ensure smooth logistics operations and inventory control.
2. Key Accountabilities:
- Receiving Goods: Physically and systematically receive finished goods from production or factory accounts. Arrange inventory in the designated storage area based on category and priority.
- Unloading: Lead and assist helpers in vehicle unloading. Ensure items are properly zoned and segregated as per SOPs.
- Loading: Coordinate with Distribution and Store Officers to ensure correct and safe loading of goods into containers, trailers, or delivery vehicles. Submit loading/unloading reports to relevant officers.
- Issuing Materials: Receive and review work orders or invoices; prepare batches for issuance, ensuring they align with approved requirements.
- Damaged Goods Handling: Immediately report any damaged finished or raw material goods and assist in executing corrective actions.
- Stock Counting: Participate in scheduled and ad hoc stock counts. Report discrepancies to the supervisor for reconciliation.
- Reporting: Complete daily checklists and submit reports to enable effective monitoring of warehouse tasks and performance.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all material handling tools and equipment (e.g., reach trucks, trolleys, pallets, cages) are in proper working condition. Maintain logs of equipment use and maintenance.
- Training: Train helpers on correct goods handling procedures and equipment usage to promote safe and efficient operations.
- Workplace Safety: Maintain cleanliness and safety in all working areas to ensure a healthy work environment for all team members.
3. Quality Responsibilities:
- Adhere to IMS policies and procedures.
- Meet and maintain all quality expectations and standards.
- Complete in-process quality checks using the IMS system to ensure product excellence.
- Consistently apply CIL (Cleaning, Inspection, Lubrication), CL (Centerlining), DH (Defect Handling), and PM (Preventive Maintenance) practices.
- Promptly raise quality alerts related to processes or equipment within the quality system.
4. Occupational Health, Safety & Environment (HSE):
- Comply fully with the organization’s HSE policies and procedures, including wearing required PPE.
- Take accountability for your own health and safety, as well as that of others in the workplace.
- Immediately report unsafe behaviors, conditions, near-misses, or incidents, and take initial corrective actions where applicable.
