Role Overview
This role is ideal for someone who is first and foremost a strong web developer, but who also understands the technical components of SEO well enough to work collaboratively with our marketing team. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining our in-house website ensuring site health, speed, responsiveness, and supporting SEO-related technical updates like schema markup and on-page fixes.
Core Responsibilities:
Full-Stack Development:
- Build and maintain modern, object-oriented web applications using PHP (OOP) with Laravel, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (ES6+).
- Create and update custom admin panels, page builders, and editorial tools using Laravel and/or Vue.js (or similar)
Site Maintenance & Optimization:
- Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize code for performance, responsiveness, and security.
- Minify and optimize HTML, CSS, and JavaScript; implement lazy loading, caching, and CDN integration.
- Ensure mobile-responsive design across devices and browsers.
Hosting & IT Administration:
- Set up, configure, and maintain hosting environments, web servers (Apache/Nginx), databases (MySQL), and SSL certificates.
- Manage backups, security patches, firewall rules, and uptime monitoring.
SEO Implementation Support
- Implement metadata, headings, alt attributes, and other on-page SEO updates.
- Apply and validate structured data/schema markup (Product, LocalBusiness, Article, FAQ).
- Ensure the site meets Core Web Vitals standards for speed, responsiveness, and layout stability.
- Help improve crawlability and indexability: XML sitemap updates, robots.txt, redirects.
- Support integration of GA4, Google Search Console, Looker Studio, and other tracking tools.
Must-Have Skills
- 4+ years of full-stack web development experience.
Technical Proficiencies:
- PHP (OOP) & Laravel
- HTML5, CSS3 (Sass/Less), JavaScript (ES6+)
- MySQL and database design
- Server setup: Apache/Nginx, Linux environments
- Version control (Git)
- Experience configuring and managing hosting environments and databases.
- Working knowledge of web performance optimization techniques (CWV, lazy loading, etc.).
- Familiarity with technical SEO principles and ability to implement SEO recommendations.
- Development Principles: Clean Code, MVC, RESTful APIs, Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- SEO & Performance: On-page SEO, schema markup, page-speed optimization, Core Web Vitals.
