Job Description:
We are looking for a reliable Yard Assistant to support our operations team. The ideal candidate should be fluent in English and have prior yard assistant and logistics assistance experience in the metal scrap industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage weighbridge operations for incoming and outgoing vehicles.
Handle weighment slips and maintain related reports.
Assist in receiving and dispatching metal scrap loads purchased / sold by the company.
Update the inventory information of Incoming, outgoing and processed stocks (metal scraps) daily.
Maintain communication with drivers and yard staff regarding weighment instructions.
Supervise and support basic operations in the warehouse.
Monitor the usage and functioning of machines such as metal wire shredders and granulators.
Coordinate with supervisors on day-to-day yard activities.
Assistance in the logistics operations.
Requirements:
Fluent in English (spoken and written)
Basic computer/data entry skills
Minimum 2 years of experience in a metal scrap processing environment
Familiarity with warehouse operations and basic knowledge of processing machinery
Physically fit and willing to work in a yard/warehouse environment
Education: Higher Secondary or a diploma
