Job Title: Accountant/ Jr. Accountant
Location: Dubai, UAE & Muscat, Oman
Job Purpose:
The accountant will be responsible for managing day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accurate accounting records, handling payables/receivables, and preparing financial reports. The role also requires close monitoring of inventory transactions and margin analysis specific to auto spare parts trading.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Accounting & Bookkeeping:
- Record and maintain all financial transactions in compliance with accounting standards.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely invoicing, collections, and payments.
- Reconcile bank accounts, supplier statements, and customer accounts.
- Prepare journal entries, accruals, and adjustments as needed.
2. Inventory & Costing:
- Monitor inventory transactions related to auto spare parts (purchases, sales, returns, and transfers).
- Ensure accurate costing of spare parts, including landed cost calculations (freight, customs duty, clearing charges, etc.).
- Conduct periodic stock reconciliations and support physical stock counts.
- Identify discrepancies in stock valuation and coordinate with the warehouse team for resolution.
3. Financial Reporting:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Assist in cash flow forecasting and working capital management.
- Support management with profitability analysis by product line, customer, and supplier.
- Maintain compliance with VAT and other applicable tax regulations (filing, reporting, and reconciliation).
4. Internal Controls & Compliance:
- Implement and monitor internal controls for accounting, inventory, and cash handling.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards (IFRS/IAS), and local laws.
5. Support to Management:
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Support decision-making through ad-hoc financial analysis.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related.
- Minimum 3–5 years of accounting experience (experience in auto spare parts trading / retail trading preferred).
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, VAT regulations, and inventory management.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Excel.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently under deadlines.
