Job Summary:
The Driller is responsible for operating drilling equipment to create boreholes for geotechnical investigations, soil sampling, and foundation testing. The role requires ensuring safe, efficient, and accurate drilling operations while maintaining equipment and adhering to project specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain drilling rigs and associated equipment for geotechnical borehole investigations.
- Drill boreholes to specified depths and diameters according to project plans.
- Collect soil, rock, and groundwater samples as required for geotechnical analysis.
- Monitor and control drilling operations to ensure accuracy, safety, and compliance with engineering specifications.
- Maintain daily drilling logs and report progress, equipment performance, and any issues encountered.
- Conduct routine maintenance and minor repairs of drilling equipment.
- Follow all safety procedures and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
- Assist geotechnical engineers and field technicians in site investigations.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and transportation of samples to laboratories.
Qualifications & Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical/trade certification in drilling is a plus.
- Proven experience in drilling, preferably for geotechnical, environmental, or construction projects.
- Knowledge of drilling equipment, tools, and techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and borehole logs.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and physical stamina.
- Awareness of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Working Conditions:
- Outdoor work in various weather conditions.
- Physical work including lifting, bending, and handling equipment.
- Possible travel to constructions site
