Key Responsibilities:Boom Truck Operations:
- Operate boom truck crane to lift, move, and place equipment and materials (e.g., steel trusses, walls, floors).
- Perform pre-operational inspections and calculate crane capacities and load weights.
- Manipulate controls to regulate speed and direction of crane and hoist movement.
- Bolt boom sections together to extend or modify boom for specific tasks.
- Place blocks and outriggers to stabilize the truck during lifting operations.
- Follow verbal, written, or signal instructions for crane operation.
Loader Operations:
- Operate loaders and other heavy equipment to load/unload materials.
- Fill ditches, level land, and spread materials like dirt and rock.
- Perform daily maintenance and safety checks.
- Monitor material piles and organize materials accordingly.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
General Duties:
- Drive trucks to worksites and unload materials.
- Complete job tickets, inspection logs, and service summaries.
- Report equipment malfunctions and perform minor repairs.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety regulations.
- Train other staff on equipment operation when needed.
Qualifications:Required:
- Valid Class A or B CDL License
- NCCCO Certification (for crane operation)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Clean driving record and ability to pass drug/background checks
- Physical ability to lift/move up to 75 lbs and access confined spaces
Preferred:
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Hazmat qualification (a plus)
- 2–5 years of experience in heavy equipment operation
