About the Job
We’re looking for a strategic operator to be the CPTO’s execution partner, someone who thrives in ambiguity, builds crisp operating rhythms, and turns priorities into shipped outcomes. You’ll sit at the center of Product & Engineering, connecting dots across licensing activations, bank partnerships, planning, budgets, and comms ensuring the org moves as one. This role is designed for impact: you will shape how we plan, communicate, and deliver at scale.
Who are we
Lean enables companies to seamlessly connect to their users' bank accounts to initiate real-time payments and retrieve their account information. Our products have garnered the trust of leading companies and enabled them to deliver powerful experiences when connected with a user’s bank account, allowing users to perform prudent financial planning, get better rates on loans, transfer money to friends, and more, without compromising on privacy or security.
Some of Lean’s clients include the likes of Tabby, Tas’heel, Tawuniya, Hungerstation, and many more, making it the region’s most valuable Open Banking platform. The company has now processed over a billion dollars, and its products are also connected with hundreds of thousands of accounts. Lean envisions a fully inclusive financial ecosystem that serves everyone, no matter where they bank or live in the MENA region.
Responsibilities
Run the operating cadence: Drive leadership reviews, track escalations, codify decisions/next steps, and ensure owners and timelines are unambiguous, generally increasing accountability and results across the org.
Quarterback strategic initiatives: Orchestrate cross-functional efforts led by Product/Tech (e.g., license activation, regulatory readiness, partnership enablement, support on corp dev initiatives) from kickoff to go-live.
Plan with precision: Lead quarterly & annual planning; translate strategy into OKRs; better KPI visibility and tracking; maintain a single source of truth for scope, sequencing, and resourcing; support roadmaping, sprint planning, eng resource allocation planning.
Coordination with commercial: Be point person for ensuring tech and commercial functions operate cohesively, aligning strategy, targets and comms across both orgs.
Own the “front stage”: Prepare company/partner materials, exec readouts, and major presentations; partner on external scheduling and high-stakes meetings.
Steward budgets & headcount: Run budget rhythms, investment cases, and hiring plans; monitor burn vs. plan and surface trade-offs early.
Raise the comms bar: Draft internal notes, org-wide updates, and partner communications that are clear, concise, and consistent.
Minimum Qualifications
8-10+ years in consulting, strategy/ops, product ops, or technical program leadership (hypergrowth or fintech/regulatory environments are a plus).
Technical fluency (engineering or product background preferred); you can engage credibly with architects, PMs, and security.
Operator’s toolkit: Planning/OKR systems, program delivery, risk & dependency management, decision logs, and post-mortems.
Executive communication: Sharp narrative writing and deck craft; confident with board-level and partner-facing materials.
Bias to action: You simplify, sequence, and ship, maintaining high quality without adding process for process’s sake.
High EQ: Trusted partner who can challenge, align, and unblock across functions.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with bank partnerships, licensing/regulatory workstreams, or on-prem/regulated deployments.
Fintech/payments, open banking, or data platform experience.
Arabic/English bilingual.
NB. While we think the above experience could be important, we’re keen to hear from people that believe they have valuable experience to bring to the role. If you identify with the team and mission, but not all of our requirements, then please still apply!!
