We are looking for a qualified and experienced Chief Officer – DPO to join our offshore fleet operating in Abu Dhabi. The Chief Officer DPO is responsible for supporting the Master in vessel operations, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the Dynamic Positioning (DP) system, and managing the deck department.
This role is critical for DP vessel operations, including offshore support, construction, ROV, subsea work, and drilling assistance. The successful candidate must demonstrate strong leadership, navigation skills, and a deep understanding of offshore DP operations and safety compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Master in all aspects of vessel command and navigation.
- Operate and monitor the Dynamic Positioning system during offshore operations.
- Plan and execute deck operations, including cargo handling, rigging, and marine deck activities.
- Maintain DP logs and ensure accurate reporting of all DP-related activities.
- Ensure all deck officers and crew are trained and competent in their duties.
- Conduct safety drills, toolbox talks, and enforce compliance with ISM and ISPS codes.
- Monitor vessel stability, ballast control, and cargo operations.
- Liaise with the Master, client representatives, and offshore installation teams during projects.
- Ensure compliance with ADNOC, Class, Flag State, and company standards.
Requirements:
- Chief Mate License (STCW II/2) with valid endorsement.
- Valid DP Unlimited Certificate (NI-accredited).
- Minimum 24 months experience as Chief Officer on DP Class 2 or 3 offshore vessels.
- Valid STCW certificates: Advanced Firefighting, Medical Care, GMDSS, PSCRB, etc.
- Proficient in DP operations and navigation systems (e.g., Kongsberg, MT, Rolls-Royce).
- Strong leadership, communication, and crew management skills.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
- ADNOC approval or prior experience operating in Abu Dhabi/UAE waters is preferred.
