Job Summary:
As a psychologist, your primary role is to assess, diagnose, and provide therapy or counseling to individuals experiencing mental, emotional, or behavioral challenges. You'll utilize your expertise in human behavior, cognition, and emotional processes to help individuals improve their mental health, cope with stress, and overcome various psychological issues.
Responsibilities:
- Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct psychological assessments and evaluations to understand individuals' mental health concerns, using standardized tests, interviews, and observation methods to diagnose psychological disorders.
- Individual Therapy: Provide one-on-one therapy sessions to clients, employing various therapeutic approaches (e.g., cognitive-behavioral therapy, psychoanalysis, humanistic therapy) tailored to each client's needs.
- Group Therapy: Facilitate group therapy sessions to address specific mental health issues, allowing clients to interact, share experiences, and support each other in a structured setting.
- Treatment Planning: Develop personalized treatment plans based on assessment findings, collaborating with clients to set therapeutic goals and strategies for addressing their concerns.
- Crisis Intervention: Offer immediate support and intervention in crisis situations, such as suicidal ideation, trauma, or acute mental health episodes, to ensure clients' safety and stability.
- Counseling and Guidance: Provide guidance and counseling on a range of issues, including relationships, stress management, self-esteem, and life transitions.
- Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and confidential records of client sessions, assessments, progress notes, and treatment plans in compliance with ethical and legal standards.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors, to coordinate comprehensive care for clients.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or associate's degree in psychology from an accredited institution.
- BLS certification is required and must be maintained by the professional.
- An active DHA License is mandatory.
- Specialized training and experience in specific therapeutic modalities.
- Strong assessment and diagnostic skills.
- Excellent communication in Arabic and English.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for building rapport with clients.
- Empathy, patience, and a nonjudgmental approach to client care.
- Ethical and professional conduct in accordance with relevant guidelines and standards.
