Job Description
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Document Controller to join our team in the Abu Dhabi. As an integral part of our site operations, you will be responsible for managing all project-related documentation to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely access to critical information. Your role will support the successful delivery of construction projects by maintaining efficient documentation workflows in coordination with internal teams, consultants, contractors, and local authorities.
Key Responsibilities:
Establish and maintain a comprehensive document control system for managing drawings, submittals, reports, and project correspondence.
Coordinate the distribution and flow of documents between internal teams, consultants, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
Track document submissions and approvals, ensuring timely processing and proper version control.
Maintain accurate electronic and hard copy records of all documentation, including revisions and metadata.
Review document formats and naming conventions for compliance with client and authority requirements.
Generate reports for internal use, project reviews, and audits as needed.
Assist project managers and engineers with document retrieval and submissions.
Safeguard sensitive information and ensure secure handling of project data.
Liaise with IT and project staff to optimize use of document control platforms.
Conduct regular audits of documentation systems and processes.
Collaborate across departments to improve document workflows and control efficiency.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Administration or a related field.Minimum 5 years of experience as a Document Controller on construction projects in the UAE, with at least 3 years in a consultancy role.
Strong knowledge of document control systems, practices, and industry standards.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), Adobe Acrobat, and document control platforms such as Aconex and ASITE.
Familiarity with documentation protocols, submission procedures, and local regulatory requirements.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle high volumes of documentation accurately.
Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Solid understanding of construction industry documentation standards.
