Role Purpose:
The Document Controller is responsible for managing, organizing, and maintaining all technical and non-technical project documentation related to aluminum and façade works. This role ensures documents are accurate, up-to-date, and distributed to the relevant stakeholders in line with company procedures and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and control all project-related documents including drawings, specifications, BOQ, contracts, material submittals, method statements, correspondence, and reports.
- Implement and follow document control procedures in compliance with ISO standards and company policies.
- Receive, review, and register incoming drawings and documents, ensuring proper version control and distribution.
- Issue controlled copies of project documents to the relevant departments, consultants, and contractors.
- Ensure timely retrieval of documents for ongoing projects, tendering, and estimation purposes.
- Track revisions and ensure the latest documents are always available to the project and site teams.
- Liaise with project engineers, estimators, production, and site teams to ensure proper documentation flow.
- Maintain electronic and hard copy filing systems for easy accessibility.
- Support project close-out by preparing final documentation (as-built drawings, O&M manuals, etc.).
- Provide administrative support for technical documentation as required.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 2–4 years’ experience as a Document Controller, preferably in the aluminum, façade, or construction industry.
- Familiarity with aluminum and façade-related technical documents (drawings, shop drawings, fabrication lists, BOQ, etc.).
- Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD (basic), and document control systems (Aconex, SharePoint, EDMS, etc.).
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
