The Big Picture:

This role provides leadership, strategic direction and execution of business strategy ensuring EEMEA will meet growth targets and deliver levels of service and professionalism consistent with the strategic plan. The Leader EEMEA is responsible for maintaining the overall integrity of Stryker’s Commercial business in EEMEA and upholding Stryker Values.

Essence of the role:

Regional Leadership RKI & CEE & Strategic Oversight

  • Develop and execute the strategic plans for the region to ensure all market goals, sales budget and profit objectives are met to achieve long term growth and profitability in CEE and RKI markets
  • Oversee the development of the regional plans for CEE and RKI to achieve short-, medium- and long-term business strategies while providing coordination and oversight across EEMEA from a TOM perspective
  • Monitor results against budgets, sales forecasts and plans. Ensure action is taken to maximize gains and minimize variations with direct P&L responsibility for CEE and RKI, and shadow P&L accountability for EEMEA TOM 2.0 markets
  • Undertake major customer & client visits in CEE and RKI as required to retain and win new business.
  • Lead the General Managers in CEE and RKI retain, manage and expand key distributor relationships to ensure comprehensive sales coverage and networks.
  • Advocate and enhance sales leadership and sales management capability across CEE and RKI, while supporting capability development aligned with the TOM across EEMEA.
  • Ensure establishment of clear guidelines on commercial and sales roles, responsibilities and business processes across CEE and RKI and ensure alignment within EEMEA TOM principles

Stakeholder Engagement & Corporate Representation

  • Represent the Company to the appropriate Government industry bodies and serve on special committees as required to enhance the Company’s corporate image in the region.
  • Maintain awareness of both the external and internal competitive landscape, opportunities for expansion, customers, markets, new industry developments and standards.
  • Observe and comply with the provisions set out in any written policy, practice or procedure circulated by the Company from time to uphold Stryker’s values and a culture of compliance.

Commercial Strategy & IC Alignment

  • Partner with the Global Indirect Channel Management team to drive alignment with ICM standards.
  • Ensure ICs are contributing maximum value to regional and local commercial goals in CEE & RKI region by applying scrutiny commensurate with risk level assessments to improve visibility into IC risk and compensation levels.
  • Communicate standards, expectations, and policies to regional and local ICM functions in CEE & RKI and enable the strategic business value of risk mitigation and management as it relates to commercial success and profit maximization.

Implementation TOM Model & Change Management

  • Act as the guardian of the EEMEA Transatlantic Operating Model (TOM), ensuring consistent implementation and strategic alignment across all divisions and clusters.
  • Coordinate, facilitate, and support as “the glue” between divisions and countries/clusters to ensure TOM effectiveness.
  • Lead or support decisions on key TOM intersections — such as market entry, exit, or cluster structure changes — in collaboration with global and regional stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and lead the exit and communication strategy for the Spine business across EEMEA countries

Leadership/ People Development/ Engagement

  • Develop and appropriately organize leadership and succession plans to best deploy talent to achieve business and organizational goals in CEE & RKI
  • Invest strategically in people development and a strong talent pipeline for critical roles.
  • Effectively mentor and coach sales and commercial leaders within CEE & RKI to enhance their capability.
  • Create an energetic and high-performance culture with a strong sense of accountability and ethics.
  • Build cross-department cooperation and efficiency across CEE, RKI and the broader EEMEA team where relevant
  • Ensure professional development for the leadership team resulting in increased impact on the CEE & RKI business’ success, along with TOM 2.0 Markets
  • Build and maintain exceptional employee engagement throughout the team.
  • Create a Commercial Team succession plan with an individualized development plan for identified individuals.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews & bi-annually performance reviews.
  • Conduct employee engagement sessions annually and create and execute action plans based on these sessions.
  • Responsible for compliance with company policies and corrective actions

Must Have in Profile and Experience:

  • Experience managing sales and distribution operations in emerging markets, ideally EEMEA.
  • Proven record of working with business complexity and able to prioritize effectively.
  • Cultural empathy and agility. Able to work in complex environments with the ability to navigate sensitive cultural issues.
  • Experience in the medical products industry (preferred)
  • Ability to interface with all levels of executive management while advancing the success of the operations in support of the overall country, regional and corporate objectives.
  • Track record of creative approaches and imaginative solutions that meet real business needs.
  • Experience of working in an international organization and building the relationships required to succeed.
  • Excellent commercial understanding of the health care environment in EEMEA and a proven ability to leverage commercial acumen to produce superior results.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work to agree deadlines and attention for detail.
  • Excellent oral and written communication; including presentation skills-demonstrated ability to be clear and concise.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; comfortable with dealing with executive management, maintaining relationships with divisional personnel, and developing strong relationships with corporate teams.
  • Possess ability to identify and hire outstanding talent - must be able to analyze and make decisions regarding personnel.
  • Positive and optimistic. Personal drive and focus motivate and inspire others.
  • Proactive and results orientated, with ability to take decisions and deliver high quality results quickly when necessary and resilience to challenge/be challenged.
