Position Summary
Seeking an experienced Electrician to maintain and repair electrical systems in water and wastewater treatment facilities. Responsible for ensuring continuous operation of treatment equipment while maintaining safety and environmental compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, motors, pumps, and control panels in treatment facilities
- Troubleshoot PLCs, SCADA systems, and process instrumentation (flow meters, pH sensors)
- Perform preventive maintenance on VFDs, motor control centers, and distribution panels
- Ensure compliance with NEC, OSHA, and environmental regulations
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and assist with emergency repairs
- Work with confined space entry and lockout/tagout procedures
Required Qualifications
Education:
- High school diploma + completed electrical apprenticeship program
- Associate degree in Electrical Technology preferred
Experience:
- 3-5 years industrial electrical experience (water/wastewater treatment preferred)
- Experience with motor controls, PLCs, and instrumentation systems
- Background in preventive maintenance and troubleshooting
Certifications:
- Valid Journeyman Electrician License
- OSHA 10-Hour Safety Training
- Water treatment operator certification preferred
- Confined space and arc flash training preferred
Technical Requirements
- Proficient in AC/DC electrical systems (120V-480V)
- Experience with VFDs, motor controls, and process equipment
- Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings
- Knowledge of hazardous area classifications
- Computer skills and familiarity with maintenance management systems
