Job Title: FF&E Designer (Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment Designer)
Job Description:
We are seeking a talented and experienced FF&E Designer to oversee the design and implementation of furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) design for a variety of high-profile projects. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with architects, interior designers, and clients to create cohesive and innovative FF&E solutions while ensuring the alignment of design concepts with project objectives. This role requires strong project management skills, creative vision, and an in-depth understanding of market trends and materials.Responsibilities
- Concept Development: Lead the conceptualization and development of FF&E designs, ensuring harmony with overall interior and architectural design schemes.
- Project Management: Manage FF&E projects from concept to installation, including coordination of timelines, budgets, and resources with project architects.
- Design Integration: Develop and align FF&E design concepts with broader interior design goals and project requirements.
- Stakeholder Communication: Facilitate communication between clients, suppliers, and team members to ensure project alignment and client satisfaction.
- End-to-End Oversight: Oversee the FF&E project lifecycle, including client meetings, mood board creation, selection processes, quotations, and delivery management.
- On-Site Coordination: Attend site meetings to ensure compliance with project requirements and design standards.
- Industry Awareness: Stay abreast of market trends and maintain strong relationships with industry consultants and suppliers.
- Detailed Specifications: Prepare detailed specifications, quotations, and tender documents for FF&E items, including materials, finishes, and dimensions.
- Budget Management: Manage budgets for FF&E elements, ensuring cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.
- Collaborative Execution: Coordinate closely with interior designers, architects, and project managers to achieve cohesive project execution.
- Documentation Management: Document and manage procurement, installation, and project coordination processes.
- Technical Expertise: Utilize advanced design software and tools to create detailed FF&E data sheets, engineering design documents, and BOQs as part of the submission package for clients and contractors.
- Fast-Paced Delivery: Ensure project delivery in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
- Minimum 10-12 years of experience in FF&E design, with a focus on high-end residential, commercial, or hospitality projects in the GCC.
- Strong portfolio showcasing expertise in FF&E conceptualization, selection, and integration with architectural and interior design elements.
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, and other relevant tools.
- Excellent knowledge of materials, furnishings, and finishes, with an eye for detail and aesthetics.
- Proven ability to manage budgets and timelines effectively.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills to manage teams and liaise with stakeholders.
- Ability to adapt to market trends and provide innovative, client-focused solutions.
- Demonstrated experience preparing detailed quotations, specifications, and tender documents.
- Familiarity with the full project lifecycle, from concept through execution and installation.
Other Auxiliary Requirements
- Willingness to travel for site meetings, supplier visits, and project-related activities.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken); knowledge of Arabic is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
