Job Overview:
The Hostess is responsible for welcoming guests, managing reservations, and seating customers in an efficient and friendly manner. As the first point of contact for guests, the Hostess plays a key role in creating a positive dining experience. They manage the flow of guests, maintain an organized seating chart, and assist in coordinating communication between the kitchen and wait staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Guest Reception:
- Warmly greet and welcome guests as they arrive.
- Escort guests to their tables while managing seating assignments.
Reservations & Seating:
- Handle phone and online reservations, including any special requests.
- Maintain an organized seating chart to ensure a smooth dining experience.
- Manage waitlists during busy periods and provide accurate wait times to guests.
Customer Service:
- Provide excellent customer service, addressing any inquiries or concerns.
- Assist guests with special seating arrangements or accommodations.
Coordination with Staff:
- Communicate guest preferences and special requests to servers and the kitchen.
- Ensure the restaurant's flow is maintained by coordinating table turnovers efficiently.
Maintain Cleanliness:
- Ensure the entrance, waiting area, and hostess station are clean and presentable.
- Prepare menus and seating materials for guests.
Qualifications:
Experience: Previous experience in customer service or the hospitality industry (preferred).
Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and organized during busy periods.
- Strong multitasking and problem-solving abilities.
- Friendly and professional demeanor.
