Key Responsibilities:
1. HSE Management & Compliance
- Develop, implement, and maintain the HSE Management System in accordance with local legislation and international standards (e.g., ISO 45001, ISO 14001).
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental laws, regulations, and company requirements.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of construction sites, equipment, and activities.
2. Risk Assessment & Control
- Lead the identification of workplace hazards and conduct risk assessments.
- Implement appropriate risk control measures and ensure their effectiveness.
- Develop Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Method Statements for high-risk activities.
3. Incident Management
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to identify root causes and corrective actions.
- Maintain incident records and report findings to management.
- Monitor the implementation of corrective and preventive measures.
4. Training & Awareness
- Develop and deliver HSE training programs, inductions, and toolbox talks.
- Promote a safety-first culture among site teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
- Ensure competency and awareness of all workers regarding HSE practices.
5. Emergency Preparedness
- Develop, implement, and maintain emergency response plans.
- Conduct regular drills to test readiness and response capabilities.
6. Coordination & Leadership
- Lead the HSE team and coordinate with project/site managers, engineers, and subcontractors.
- Act as the focal point for all HSE communications on the project.
- Ensure subcontractors comply with project-specific HSE requirements.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or equivalent.
- NEBOSH IGC / OSHA / ISO 45001 Lead Auditor certification is preferred.
- Minimum 15–20 years of HSE experience, with at least 2 to 5years experience as HSE Lead in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of UAE HSE laws and regulations (or relevant country standards).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and influence positive safety behaviors.
