HSE Lead/Head -Oman

Key Responsibilities:

1. HSE Management & Compliance

• Develop, implement, and maintain the HSE Management System in accordance with local legislation and international standards (e.g., ISO 45001, ISO 14001).
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental laws, regulations, and company requirements.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits of construction sites, equipment, and activities.

2. Risk Assessment & Control

• Lead the identification of workplace hazards and conduct risk assessments.
• Implement appropriate risk control measures and ensure their effectiveness.
• Develop Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Method Statements for high-risk activities.

3. Incident Management

• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to identify root causes and corrective actions.
• Maintain incident records and report findings to management.
• Monitor the implementation of corrective and preventive measures.

4. Training & Awareness

• Develop and deliver HSE training programs, inductions, and toolbox talks.
• Promote a safety-first culture among site teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
• Ensure competency and awareness of all workers regarding HSE practices.

5. Emergency Preparedness

• Develop, implement, and maintain emergency response plans.
• Conduct regular drills to test readiness and response capabilities.

6. Coordination & Leadership

• Lead the HSE team and coordinate with project/site managers, engineers, and subcontractors.
• Act as the focal point for all HSE communications on the project.
• Ensure subcontractors comply with project-specific HSE requirements.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or equivalent.
• NEBOSH IGC / OSHA / ISO 45001 Lead Auditor certification is preferred.
• Minimum 15–20 years of HSE experience, with at least 2 to 5years experience as HSE Lead in the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of UAE HSE laws and regulations (or relevant country standards).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and influence positive safety behaviors.
