- Physical Inventory and Audits: Inventory Controllers conduct regular physical counts of inventory, such as cycle counts, and perform audits to reconcile any discrepancies between the physical stock and the records. They investigate the causes of these discrepancies and resolve them.
- Ordering and Procurement: They process purchase orders, obtain price quotes from suppliers, and monitor supplier performance to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of inventory. They may also negotiate prices with vendors.
- Reporting and Analysis: They generate and analyze reports on inventory levels, trends, and discrepancies. They use this data to identify areas for improvement and make recommendations to management.
