We are seeking a skilled and passionate Korean Chef who specializes in authentic Korean cuisine. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality traditional and modern Korean dishes while ensuring kitchen efficiency, food safety, and consistency in taste and presentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook a wide range of Korean dishes, including but not limited to: kimchi, bulgogi, bibimbap, samgyeopsal, japchae, tteokbokki, Korean BBQ, and various banchan (side dishes).
- Develop and execute authentic Korean recipes, adapting them to local taste if required without compromising authenticity.
- Ensure consistent food quality, taste, and presentation.
- Oversee kitchen operations related to Korean cuisine, ensuring smooth service during peak hours.
- Monitor food preparation and cooking processes to ensure adherence to hygiene and safety standards (HACCP).
- Train junior kitchen staff on Korean cooking techniques and recipe preparation.
- Collaborate with the Head Chef on seasonal menu planning and kitchen cost control.
- Source and maintain inventory of Korean ingredients and specialty products.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen and workstations.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Korean Chef or in a similar role in a Korean or Asian restaurant.
- Formal culinary training or certification is preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of traditional and contemporary Korean cooking techniques and ingredients.
- Experience with Korean BBQ setup, grilling, and table-side service is an advantage.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
- Excellent time management, leadership, and communication skills.
- Understanding of food safety regulations and kitchen hygiene standards.
Language Requirements:
- Proficiency in English (spoken & written); Korean language skills are an advantage
