The Logistics Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring logistics operations such as inventory, warehousing, transportation, and supply chain processes. This role ensures efficient and cost-effective movement of goods from suppliers to warehouses and from warehouses to stores or customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods within warehouses and distribution centers.
- Develop and implement strategies for optimized supply chain operations.
- Manage inventory tracking systems and conduct regular stock checks to prevent loss or shortages.
- Liaise with suppliers, transport companies, and retail stores to schedule deliveries and resolve issues.
- Optimize transportation routes and negotiate shipping rates to control costs.
- Supervise and train warehouse staff, including drivers, pickers, and forklift operators.
- Ensure all logistics activities comply with company policies and health & safety standards. • Maintain accurate records of inventory, shipped, and received goods.
- Prepare and analyze reports on logistics performance, identifying areas for improvement. • Implement logistics software and new technologies to improve efficiency.
- Handle customer complaints and queries related to logistics and delivery.
- Collaborate with other departments (e.g., purchasing, sales, and customer service) to maximize efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Key Skills & Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
- Prior experience (3+ years) in logistics or supply chain management, preferably in the retail sector.
- Strong knowledge of logistics systems, inventory management, and warehouse procedures.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills.
- Leadership ability and experience managing a team.
- Proficiency with logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations in the UAE, including compliance with UAE labor laws and safety standards relevant to warehousing, transportation, and retail logistics.
- Ensure all logistics processes and warehouse operations comply with UAE safety regulations and local authority requirements, including conducting regular safety audits and maintaining documentation for inspections.
- Implement safety training programs for staff according to UAE standards, and ensure all employees are updated on best practices.
