The role is responsible for assisting the line manager in generating costs estimations, inspections and installation works of mechanical and structural products and services. The responsibilities will also evolve towards involvement in maintenance activities of mechanical & structural systems undertaken by the WCS project delivery engineers and technicians involved in site works. Further more there will be involvement in areas such as crane refurbishment mechanical, hydraulic and fire protection systems installation and commissioning according to industry standards. The role will undertake site and factory inspections and ensure projects are completed on time, and to the satisfaction of clients.
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Responsible for site inspections of all WCS projects.
Management of Site Team
- Arrange tender responses for WCS manufactured products and other services under the guidance of the WCS senior engineers.
- Coordinate the procurement of materials, equipment, and services provided by WCS
- Plan and Schedule all works in close collaboration with WCS PMO
- Oversee the site mechanical/structural and associated works undertaken by WCS
- Ensure site works are completed on time and liase with WCS site teams working globally
- Provide assistance to subcontractors ensuring safety, specifications and quality standards are adhered to.
- Follow WCS processes and identify areas for improvement to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices. - Implement innovative solutions to improve project delivery and service quality
- Provide regular project status update reports with variance tracking under the guidance of the WCS PMO
Tenders / Bids Preparation & Budgets
- Assist to prepare offers and BOMs for project related works
Safety Adherence
- Ensure personal contribution towards safety standards and implementation of safety policies
- Ensure WCS safety standards are administered on site
WCS Ambassador
Act as an ambassador of WCS at all times when engaging with clients, suppliers and contractors, ensuring and demonstrating positive behavior, values and culture of WCS is promoted in all aspects of your work in an ethical manner
KEY DELIVERABLES:
- High accuracy in cost estimations, budgets versus actual (within KPI limits set annually)
- Technical supervision and guidance on site of projects – (achieve the KPIs set for these set annually)
- Achieve Safety Goals / Targets set
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
- Confidence in communication at all levels within the organization
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Structural Engineering
- Good understadning or background in port cranes and associated systems.
- Project management skills
- Excellent Written and Verbal English Language skills.
