Key Responsibilities
- Supervision: Assist the Executive Pastry Chef in managing the pastry team, including training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
- Production: Prepare a variety of desserts, pastries, and baked goods, ensuring quality and presentation meet the establishment's standards.
- Recipe Development: Collaborate in creating new recipes and seasonal menus, contributing creative ideas for desserts and pastries.
- Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels of baking supplies, order new stock as needed, and ensure proper storage of ingredients.
- Quality Control: Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization in the pastry kitchen, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Team Leadership: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior pastry staff, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Experience: Typically requires 4-6 years of experience in pastry production, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory role.
- Culinary Education: A degree from a culinary school is preferred, with a strong foundation in baking and pastry techniques.
- Creativity: Ability to develop innovative dessert concepts and present them attractively.
