Job Summary:
The QA/QC Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the project quality management system in compliance with contract requirements, international standards, and company policies. This role ensures that all construction activities, particularly those associated with high-rise building projects, meet stringent quality standards and regulatory requirements throughout all project phases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System in compliance with ISO 9001 or other relevant standards.
- Establish QA/QC policies, procedures, ITPs (Inspection & Test Plans), and quality objectives specific to high-rise construction.
- Prepare and update Project Quality Plans, Method Statements, and Work Inspection Requests.
- Ensure project specifications, drawings, and applicable codes are thoroughly reviewed and incorporated into the quality documentation.
- Supervise and coordinate all QA/QC activities related to civil, structural, architectural, MEP, and finishing works.
- Conduct inspections at various construction stages, including excavation, rebar installation, formwork, concrete pouring, blockwork, façade installation, etc.
- Monitor subcontractors’ and suppliers’ quality performance.
- Identify non-conformities (NCRs) and lead root cause analysis.
- Develop and follow up on corrective/preventive actions to prevent recurrence.
- Ensure timely closure of NCRs in coordination with site teams.
- Plan and conduct internal quality audits on-site and at subcontractor/supplier facilities.
- Coordinate with external auditors and clients’ QA/QC representatives.
- Prepare audit reports and follow up on compliance.
- Maintain comprehensive QA/QC records, inspection logs, material test certificates, calibration reports, etc.
- Submit weekly and monthly quality reports to management and clients.
- Ensure document control systems are strictly followed.
- Lead and mentor a team of QA/QC Engineers, Inspectors, and Document Controllers.
- Coordinate with site engineers, project managers, consultants, and client representatives on quality-related matters.
Qualifications and Experience and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 15–20 years of experience in QA/QC roles, with at least 5 years as a QA/QC Manager on high-rise building projects.
- Solid knowledge of international standards (ISO, ASTM, BS, ACI, etc.), local building codes, and authority regulations.
- Certified Lead Auditor (ISO 9001:2015) preferred.
- PMP (a plus)
- Strong familiarity with construction materials, methods, and modern QA/QC practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in QA software, MS Office, and document management systems.
Skills:
- Thorough understanding of ISO standards, local construction codes, and project specifications.
- Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, and quality-related software (e.g., Aconex, Procore).
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
