Job Purpose
The QHSE Officer is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and maintaining the company’s Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental management systems to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and organizational requirements. The role supports continuous improvement and promotes a culture of safety, quality, and environmental responsibility across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
1. Quality Management
- Implement and maintain ISO 9001 quality management systems and procedures.
- Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Assist in developing quality control plans and inspection procedures.
- Investigate and report non-conformities and ensure corrective/preventive actions are implemented.
2. Health & Safety
- Enforce occupational health and safety policies in compliance with local laws and international standards (ISO 45001).
- Conduct safety inspections, risk assessments, and hazard identification.
- Organize safety drills, toolbox talks, and awareness programs.
- Report and investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses.
3. Environmental Management
- Support implementation of ISO 14001 environmental management systems.
- Monitor waste management, pollution control, and resource efficiency practices.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and sustainability initiatives.
4. Compliance & Documentation
- Maintain up-to-date QHSE documentation, manuals, and records.
- Prepare reports for management and regulatory authorities.
- Ensure legal compliance with local and international QHSE requirements.
5. Training & Awareness
- Provide QHSE induction training for new employees.
- Develop and deliver ongoing training to promote a safety-first culture.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field.
- Professional certifications such as NEBOSH IGC, IOSH Managing Safely, ISO 9001/14001/45001 Lead Auditor will be an added advantage.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a QHSE role .
- Strong knowledge of local regulatory requirements and international QHSE standards.
